The Moon washing machine from Indesit has a great futuristic look.

The first thing you notice is its unique coloured door. But the blue fronted design is not simply for good looks. It hides a 'self cleaning 'detergent dispenser which delivers the soap straight to your wash.

To set the machine, use the one touch programme console - after that it seems to have a mind of its own, automatically regulating the temperatures, wash intensity and spin speeds.

It even knows if traces of detergent are left on the clothes, and will give an extra rinse if necessary!
