Wedgwood launches mix and mismatch tea set

The company has introduced a new set of six different cups and saucers, which are modelled on vintage designs from the Wedgwood and Coalport archives

After years in the doldrums, tea is once again back into fashion and Wedgwood are celebrating this with a new collection of six glamorous cups.

In keeping with the current interest in vintage looks, each of the six Harlequin cups is modelled on original designs from the Wedgwood and Coalport archives.

There's the dainty Ribbon/Rose cup, with a delicate rose design on the cup and a lovely blue ribbon on the saucer; the ornate Queen of Hearts, with plenty of gold details; the playful Polka Dots, on a fresh green background; the whimsical Butterfly, with an original butterfly-shaped handle; the pink and romantic Deco Bloom; and the equally pink but more decorative Daisy.

The set's contrasting shapes and patterns lend themselves to creative mixing and mismatching, and take the formality out of afternoon tea while preserving its visual appeal.
