Classic freestanding bedroom furniture

Create a sophisticated bedroom with freestanding furniture that you can rearrange for a new layout

Simple steps to create the look -

  • Make the bed the focal point of the room and base the scheme around it. Go for a classic upholstered design that will stand the test of time, and use the same fabric for cushions and at the window for a co-ordinated look.

  • Go for plain walls in a soft pastel shade so the furniture takes centre stage, and choose a carpet in a darker tone to lift the pale walls.

  • Include plenty of ornate accessories, such as picture frames and patterned storage boxes, to give the scheme a feminine look.

  • Choose furniture with legs to show more floor, making the room look spacious.
