Freshen up your home for Spring
Bring spring into your home with these simple and quick ideas
Breathing life into a room for the new season doesn't have to mean a major decorating overhaul. Just follow our simple projects and spruce up for Spring.
Pretty cushions
Brighten up plain cushions with appliqués made from bits of fabric off cuts.
• Cut out flower shapes in different sizes and layer on top of each other, before pinning and stitching onto the cushion.
• These shapes can also be ironed on using a snip of Wonder Web.

Let in the light
Take down your heavy winter curtains and replace them with a soft-coloured voile panel that lets the light stream through.
• Cut two 1m lengths of coloured ribbon – we chose white and fuchsia organza ribbons – and a 1m length of gingham ribbon in a co-ordinating colour.
• Hold the three lengths of ribbon together, then gather around the voile a little lower than halfway down and tie all the ribbons in a bow, allowing the ends to hang down.

Memory corner
It's a shame to hide your treasured moments away in a photo album – show them off instead.
• Group photos of a favourite event together with a few small mementoes of the occasion in box frames.
• For a unified look, line each frame with fabric and paint in matching colours.

Peg up new snaps
• Print out your latest digital shots straight away and simply peg them onto a ribbon line for a display you can change as often as new pictures are taken.

Primrose pots
• Pretty potted plants such as primrose brighten up a dark corner.
