Latest kitchen look – Mix 'n' match

You don't have to stick to the same units – break the rules to suit you

Light and dark, wood and metal, white and colour – this look has plenty of choice to create something unique.

• Get a balanced look
Mix and match units to balance the room and create symmetry. You don't need to go for a 50/50 split – a single-coloured door can lift a run of dark walnut wood, for instance.

• Tie it together
If you go for mixed units, you should use the same handles on all of them to pull the different colours or materials together.

• Use pale colours
If you choose dark kitchen units or worktops, go for paler walls so that the room does not feel too dark.
