Think an all white room sounds bland? Think again. By using different tones of white in different textures you'll create a light room perfect for the summer.

Here's how to get the look

Use bright summer whites

Choose soothing tones of linen white paint for the walls. Avoid brilliant white as it contains a lot of blue, and could make the room look cold.

Keeping furniture at a low level and using materials such as gloss white furniture maximises light as well as making the room feel more open.

Keep the look simple

Stick to the same colour scheme for everything from accessories to artwork. Add personality with pictures, glassware and ceramics in interesting shapes and designs.

Layer white toned cushions

Make the room inviting with cushions in a variety of shades of white. Choose different colours for the trim or a subtle pattern on the fabric to add definition and contrast.
