I've had a real mixed post bag this week that's included some great letters (see below for more.) A cuddly panda, a kiddies cook set that's too good for the children and even a pair of ladies knickers (don't ask!) My top find of the week has to be the Quick Cup from Tefal.
This revolutionary kettle can produce piping hot filtered water in just three seconds – and because you only heat the water you need the makers claim it will use 1/3rd of the energy of a standard 3kW kettle. In other words you will make a 65% energy saving over a year…or £30 on your bills by using this kettle. At approx £60 it isn't cheap, and I have to say the water isn't quite hot enough for a really strong cup of tea, but it made great instant coffee…in an instant.
And speaking of saving water, my congratulations go to Julie Smith from Newcastle who sent me a picture of her garden during the rain last week. As you can see she's made the most of the wet weather and has managed to collect 22 buckets of rainwater – that's at least 110 litres in reserve for when we finally get some summer sun.
Even though it's been raining for weeks, and there are no hosepipe bans in place, I'd still recommend we all use the free water we can. After all using the garden hose treats your veggies to purified drinking water that's been processed, purified and pumped around the country, and believe me it won't make your carrots any tastier!
You can purchase the Tefal Quick Cup for, £59.99, at Currys
