Garden reminder: plant spring bulbs

Get ready for spring and plant your bulbs now

We've been talking to the garden experts at Greenfingers for some great ideas.

Try these planting arrangements for a stunning spring display.

To create these displays, you'll need three pots, each around 30cm in diameter.

Pot one: Blue muscari and daffodils

What you need: Eight blue muscari bulbs and eight daffodil bulbs.

How to plant: Plant daffodils first with muscari 6cm above.

Need to know: A pale daffodil such as 'Sailboat' looks good combined with the vivid blue of the muscari.


Pot two: Tulips and crocuses

What you need: Six tulip bulbs and six crocus bulbs.

How to plant: Plant tulips first with crocuses 15cm above.

Need to know: Go for a bold tulip like the red 'Show winner', contrasted with a white crocus like 'Jeanne d'Arc'.


Pot three: Mini daffodils, snowdrops and crocuses

What you need: Four mini daffodil bulbs, eight snowdrop bulbs and four crocus bulbs.

How to plant: Plant daffodils first with snowdrops and crocuses 15cm above.

Need to know: Narcissus 'Minnow' is an award-winning dwarf daffodil.
