Senior designer Lucy Stockton discovers tents aren't what they used to be

Get the lowdown on the latest camping trend

I went to Glastonbury last month.

Despite all the mud and rain I had a great time listening to everyone from the Killers to the Arctic Monkeys. But one thing I didn't expect to be so wowed by was all the different tents! Your standard 'cub scouts-style' tent was old news. The campsite was packed full of patterned tents, pop-up tents, wigwams, teepees - in sizes from one person to a whole coachload!

I was particularly impressed with the pop-up/quick pitch ones - open the bag, let it go and hey presto - your tent is erected. Packing it away is just as easy. Next year I definitely plan to invest in one.

There was a whole field dedicated to teepees - each one for hire. However, it wasn't cheap. I heard Amy Winehouse hired a luxury one for £3000!

My budget was not that grand and I opted for a snazzy funky floral design for £29.99 from Argos. A little loud and girly, but at least when i was staggering home at night after enjoying the bands I could find my tent!
