In the last two months, Deputy Interiors Editor Heather has visited Inverness, Hove, Harrogate, Nottingham, Morecambe and Peckham, while Lucy Welch, who's in helping us out at the moment, has been to Edinburgh, Bristol and Guildford. I've been quite lucky, and my shoots have been mainly in the south (one perk of being Interiors Editor I guess!).
Heather's long-suffering husband, Ben, and my equally long-suffering husband, Paul, have forgotten what we look like, thanks to delays on British Rail and travel chaos on that 'great car park,' the M25.
So what keeps us going? Well, that's easy. We think that we've got the best jobs in the business. Who else gets to see inside such great places everyday? Homeowners are always amazed at what we do – and they're such a big part of the shoot, as without them the homes would look cold and unfriendly.
I guess this is a big 'thank you' to all the homeowners we've met recently. We've been made to feel so welcome and we've even been supplied with chocolate brownies! It's a big thing to open your doors to us… what with all the photographers, endless amounts of camera kit, flowers and even the odd Christmas tree – and without you, Heather and I wouldn't get to travel or see such amazing homes.
